Community Justice Advocates of Utah

Empowering communities to access justice and stability

We are building a Utah where all can access legal help from a trusted community member, enabling Utahns to achieve the stability, safety, and economic security they need in order to thrive.

Our Mission

Community Justice Advocates of Utah supports and trains justice advocates across the state to empower them with the tools necessary to effectively assist their clients in accessing and exercising rights afforded them by the law.

Our Vision

We create community-based legal solutions that empower individuals and open pathways to stability, safety, and economic mobility.

Achieving Our Mission

Build Local Capacity

We empower Advocates across Utah with the training, resources, and oversight they need to support their communities effectively. By strengthening local capacity, we ensure that communities have trusted, skilled advocates who can respond quickly and compassionately. Our approach helps create lasting, community-driven solutions.

Address Legal Crisis Early

Advocates are trained to identify legal issues and intervene early in the lifecycle of a legal problem. By providing timely guidance and support, Advocates work to prevent issues from escalating into complex, costly, or long-term challenges.

Help Utahns Move from Crisis to Control

Advocates work alongside clients to build understanding, confidence, and actionable plans. By focusing on empowerment, we help Utahns regain control over their legal and personal situations. The goal is not just to solve immediate problems but to equip individuals with tools and solutions for long-term stability.

Create a Hub to Support a Statewide Network

CJAU serves as a central hub that coordinates training, oversight, and data-driven guidance for advocates across the state. This networked approach ensures consistent quality, shared learning, and statewide reach while reducing costs for our organizational partners. By connecting advocates, we amplify impact and foster a strong, collaborative community of support.
